New Orleans

It was very sad to see what Katrina had done to some of the buildings. So much of the buildings were vacant and boarded up.

We went downtown and checked out Bourbon Street. Adam's brother Daniel and his wife Jessica came to spend the day with us. There was a lot of people and it was very humid and smelly but it was cool.

We found a great restaurant to eat at. Adam and I tried fried Alligator and surprisingly it was very tasty.

Then we decided to take a carriage ride around the town, but just as we arrived to the carriage it started to rain. Then, it started to pour!! Like 30 minutes go by and it is not letting up and the streets are flooding and we are like 6 blocks away from our car. There is no way I am budging. My hair was starting to get all wet and it is just a mess. Luckily our driver knows that in New Orleans it rains and he was well prepared with two umbrellas, one of which he gives me so I don’t look like a drenched rat on our way home and I can protect Janae from the rain. Even though it was great fun sitting in the rain we were running out of time and needed to get to the airport, so Raul took an umbrella and headed to get the car in the rain. Needless to say he got soaked, but we make it out of there!
